A SEGA clothing tribute of epic proportions

So I was walking in Oxford Street on the way back from university when I go past UNIQLO and notice something truly fantastic. In a section near the entrance a staff member was already near finished putting up the most incredible SEGA tribute stand full of tshirts with all sorts of SEGA characters on them. A quick glance at the 2 for £20 sign and 5 minutes later I was walking out of the shop with two marvellous Sonic themed tshirts and in a small size too no less!

It certainly put a smile on my face after my xbox 360 stopped working and instead gave me a nice black screen with moving dots on wednesday. As for the tshirts they are of very high quality and should be avaiable from your nearest UNIQLO in the UK at £13 each tshirt or the 2 for £20 promotion mentioned.

The Legend of Zelda mighty twilight princess statue

So here I was waiting patiently on a thursday morning for a package with Wii Fit to arrive that I did not even think of what was inside this huge box. I had been waiting for over a month for the hard earned Zelda statue that I gotten after scratching my way into 14000 worth of Club Nintendo stars in an afternoon. I pretty much had very litlle faith but for a glimpse of hope given by a very kind Nintendo staff member that promised to get it sorted for me.

But moving on I opened the box to find out that it was indeed the statue and it was a lot bigger than I thought it would be like! It is said that pictures can reveal more than words sometimes so I will let you readers see just how incredible this statue is. It is a most worthy price for playing all those quality Nintendo games in the last few years and something that I will have to display for sure.

I would like to thank Nintendo if any staff member ever comes across this for all the hard work put into making the stars catalogue so rewarding and for the brilliant games I played.

Wii fit launch

With the real launch starting off on friday today’s event was more about persuading as many people as possible to get into the Wii Fit idea. In all honesty that was not a problem already as millions of people had pre ordered the title meaning it already sold out in most places as it is. When I read about this launch I was more than willing to go and try the game myself for the simple reason that I wanted to see if the Wii Balance board really did wonders. To start off as I made my way to the event it was pouring rain like it was still Winter time. This did not dissuade me from going though as I expected the event to be inside a building but was I in for a surprise. As I got there a bit late at around 10 30 AM activities were already underway. I was surprised to only see some famous people on this rather incredible house display very fittingly demonstrating the Wii Fit game.

Cosplayers united for world domination

As some of you may remember there was going to be an attempt at putting together as many people dressed in gaming costumes in one place. I managed to set some free time aside and put on my assassin costume to go to the event on the 18th March 2008.

The lovely TRiPPY, your silent assassin and super sonic DiGi

After braving some fierce wind that almost blew me off into the Thames let alone make it very hard to keep the costume in place. I eventually reached the Tate Modern and was greeted by a marching group of people already there. I was slighly confused at first by the sight of people walking up and down while some random photographers snapped happily away at the sight.  For most of the event I was simply hiding at the back which gave me the chance to meet the very lovely NiGHTS lady herself with her other half in Sonic gear. I also started to bump into a lot of familiar faces from around the net which made it all better like Vger dressed as tails from the Sonic Stadium and the great Cat in full Lara Croft mode.

It was while the group started heading down the bridge for a main photo that I noticed the one and only Mr Richard Jaqques. I couldnt resist going over to say hello and I suppose thank him for all the stellar gaming music he composed! After this  we were instructed to go take some photos on a Sun newspaper branded bus. There was nothing else to note but the fact that 90 odd people managed to turn up and make this a worthy entry into the record books. I somehow got interviewed for the xbox magazine so hopefully photos of my assassin costume will not infuriate anyone for not being too good.

(thanks for taking the photo with me if you ever come across this)

I met some fantastic people at the event that were wearing  some incredible costumes. In all honesty I never done anything like this and was there more for a moral boost but glad I could help out and do my bit.

It has come to my attention that there will be an attempt at getting as many people as possible dressed up in full gaming costume very soon. The idea is to break the record of most game related costume dressed humans in one spot. So if you feel like putting yourself forever on the pages of next year’s Guiness gaming book edition then head down to London on the 18th March 2008 at 11 spot on am in the morning.

I know for sure that a certain lady will be there in her NiGHTS costume along with a in full Sonic gear A silent master assassin might join them as well with some luck if he can use his sneaky skills to get out of University earlier that day. 😉

Here is more information with some doodles thrown in for good effect and do come and join in the fun as there will be some sort of prizes too for everyone.

Bleach DS review

As a long time fan of the long running anime I knew that this game had to be checked out thoroughly. Although it finally made the jump from Japan to the rest of the world concluding with Europe at the end of February 2008, this took a while to happen as the Japanese version was out about two years ago.I do not own the English version of the game as I imported the Japanese version those two years ago and do not regret such a choice. The initial concept of the game is that is a fighter developed by the much praised Treasure inc. This theme fits the game perfectly as the anime itself focuses mainly on the constant fights Ichigo and his friends must endure in order to save the day. With this in mind the game follows the initial storyline arch which covers roughly the sixty four first episodes. In order to not spoil it for anyone I will not go into details of the story in this review.

Rainbox Six Vegas 2 event

With the imminent release of Rainbow six Vegas 2 I was deeply curious by what kind of extras the game would get.  As luck would have it while browsing the official ubisoft forums for answers as to what my newly pre ordered bonus edition from the Ubistore would contain, I was deeply surprised by a certain topic. In it a very kind ubisoft staff member was inviting members to participate in the chance to get an early preview of the game. As I thought that I might as well give it a try and enter I was surprised  a week later by a mysterious email that was in my inbox. It was nothing less than an invite to this preview of the game as it seemed that my entry was worthy enough.
